Learn Japanese Grammar ~ hajimeru (~ はじめる)

Japanese Grammar ~ hajimeru (~ はじめる) has meaning "to start; to begin to ~".

Learn Japanese grammar: 始める (hajimeru). Meaning: to start; to begin to ~.

始める (hajimeru) is used to express when something is starting or has just begin.

It can be freely conjugated to use in current, future, and past tense.

Formation [接続]
Verb-ますstem + 始める

はじめる - Example Sentences 

食べ始める。
Tabe hajimeru.
To begin eating.

いつそれをやり始めるの?
Itsu sore wo yari hajimeru no?
When are you starting that?

いったん話し始めると、彼女を止めることは出来ない。
Ittan hanashi hajimeru to, kanojo wo tomeru koto wa dekinai.
Once she starts talking, there's no stopping her.

雨が降り始めた。
Ame ga furi hajimeta.
It started to rain.

今朝、歯が痛くなり始めた。
Kesa, ha ga itaku nari hajimeta.
My tooth started hurting this morning.

私は再びサイクリングをやり始めた。
Watashi wa futatabi saikuringu wo yari hajimeta.
I started cycling again.

私は今年から働き始めたばかりです。
Watashi wa kotoshi kara hataraki hajimeta bakari desu.
I just started working from this year.

私はまだ走り始めていない。
Watashi wa mada hashiri hajimete inai.
I still haven't started running.

私はまだ夕食を作り始めていない。
Watashi wa mada yuushoku wo tsukuri hajimete inai.
I still haven't started cooking dinner.

この状況は変わり始めている。
Kono joukyou wa kawari hajimete iru.
This situation is starting to change.
